Summary of the House Committee Version of the Bill

HCS SCS SB 619 -- AMBULANCE SERVICE

SPONSOR:  Mathewson (Hoppe)

COMMITTEE ACTION:  Voted "do pass by consent" by the Committee
on Local Government and Related Matters by a vote of 17 to 0.

This substitute allows licensed ambulance service providers to
provide services at the Missouri State Fair.

The substitute also allows the Department of Agriculture to
grant an easement to the City of Sedalia.

The Department of Health is allowed to issue a 90-day temporary
emergency medical technicians license if certain conditions are
met.

The substitute contains an emergency clause.

FISCAL NOTE:  No impact on state funds.

PROPONENTS:  Supporters say that the bill will allow local
volunteer fire and ambulance services to provide ambulance
service at the Missouri State Fair.  The service is provided
free.

Testifying for the bill was Senator Mathewson.

OPPONENTS:  There was no opposition voiced to the committee.
